This is an open mic jam night! Open to all musicians! Whether you want to lead the jam or be a player you’re welcome to join in and express yourself in inspirational and creative ways. Be it acoustic/electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, keyboard, Harmonica, brass instrument, violin, percussion, vocals, hang pan drum or anything else! A digital drum kit will be available alongside cajon drum and djembe and other percussion. Amps for electric instruments and vocal mics. Welcome to bring your own amp and effects etc and join in. Luos will be the host/gatekeeper to keep things running smoothly!
We have a really exciting month ahead of us in September.
September celebrates the 50th anniversary of the community centre with a fantastic afternoon and evening planned on Saturday 9th September. Kick starting the event will be a talent show celebrating the talent of the younger generation here in Westminster Park. Please do come and support them! Moving into the evening we have live music from 8pm with Westminster Park resident Luos Johnson. It is a free event, no tickets are required, just show up and enjoy yourselves after all we really are lucky to have this superb facility on our doorstep!
September also brings us our first open mic night on Friday 15th September. Doors open at 7.30 and take to the mic from 8pm. There will be a great set up available to use including sound system, lights, monitors, guitar amp etc. So, whether you come to perform or to be an audience member you are guaranteed to have a fantastic night.
Our baby and toddler group for children aged from newborn to 4 years old returns on the 14th September and will continue on the 2ndand 4th Thursday of each month. There are lots of toys and activities to keep the children entertained and this truly is a fantastic way to meet other parents and grandparents in the area. Although the opening times are 1-2.30 don’t feel you need to get there at 1.00 if you have other commitments, it really is a relaxed environment! There is a small charge of £2 per family and all money goes to Finding Harmony a not for profit organisation who help support local families.
Belgrave Pre-schools doors will open again after the summer holidays and will be welcoming lots of new children as well as existing children who attend the setting. We wish them all well and hope everyone settles into their new routines quickly. We have our popular bingo on Friday 1st September and Friday 29th September. The bar is open from 7.30 and eyes down at 9.00. If you haven’t been before, give it a try. There are some brilliant prizes to be won!
Septembers quiz dates are on Saturday 2nd December and Saturday 30th September. Bar opens at 7.30 and the quiz starts at 9.00, again another night not to be missed!
Lastly, we would just like to remind everyone that community centre has a well stocked bar which is open 7 days a week at 19.30 till late and during the day on Saturday 11.30-14.00 and Sundays 11.30-15.00. Everyone is welcome to come and have a drink in the bar!

Nuffield Health are offering free weekly exercise classes for girls aged 11+.
During the remainder of the school holidays the classes are held on Fridays 1-2.
From Thursday 7th September the time will be 4-5.

The mic is open to anyone who wants to take to the stage and perform thier magic, music, poetry or comedy! With a sound system provided and monitors for you to hear yourself! Electric guitar amp for the aspiring player, bass amp and cajon drum all provided for your use.
